: Regarding Stress Faced by Students. Sir
(Don’t Use respected or dear) (No Comma after sir) Through the columns of your esteemed
newspaper, I wish to shed light on the heightened stress among
students, due to intense competitive academic environment. In today's fast-paced
world and cutthroat competition, children find themselves
constantly under unbearable stress on various fronts.
The high expectations by their parents & schools
and the desires for excellence in academics, sports, and
extracurricular activities have created havoc in the life of
students. Everyone has turned blind to the students’ suicidal reports
published in various media. The mad pursuit of making each &
every child to become a doctor or an engineer, has put
upon them undue stress and overwhelming burdens. Consequently,
their days and nights became a perpetual cycle of
completing assignments and studies, There is no time for recreation
and physical activities. They have lost their mental peace and
physical health which in turns, resulted harming their personal growth. They
are unable to pursue their passion, develop their skills and foster
creativity. It is high time to reflect
on this issue and contemplate possible solutions. Encouraging students to actively
participate in sports, games, and yoga can serve as a potential antidote
to the stress epidemic. But before this, 6-7 hour sound sleep, nutritional diet &
sufficient water intake are elementary factors to combat stress.
Additionally, parents & schools must reevaluate their
expectations and resist the urge of
excellence in academics. Introducing yoga, meditation and
other recreational practices can prove instrumental in coping
up with stress effectively. Mandatory posting of counsellors in schools and
colleges has become evident. To sum up, it is very important
to promote more holistic approach to education and prioritizes
their mental and physical well-being alongside academic achievements. Yours truly Rekha / Rakesh |
